June 2011 : Dr. Sameera Ezzat & Dr. Shahenda El Naggar receive the 2010 State Incentive Award 50000 L.E each
March, 2011: One L.E. Million Awarded to CCHE 57357 for Basic Research from the Sciences & Technology Development Fund
Dr. Shahenda El Naggar, Ph.D in molecular biology, and Director for Basic Research was the grant recipient to carry out her work on the Modulators of MRT-1 Expression in Neuroblastoma.
Hospital Build Award 2010
CCHE was honored by two awards from the Middle East Hospital Build Exhibition 2010 in recognition of its efforts to be a world class leader in healthcare. CCHE received Best Physical Environment Award and Honorable Mention for the Best Sustainable Hospital.
2010: 100,000 USD received from Dana Farber Cancer Institute for tele-scanner to participate in brain tumour research study. Dr. Mark Kieran, Director of Pediatric Neuro-oncology, Dana Farber Cancer Institute was instrumental in acquiring this grant for the CCHE enabling the surgical pathology department to begin close collaboration with Dr. Kieran’s neuro-oncology program for consultation and research. The CCHE 57357 Administration is greatful for Dr. Kieran’s enthusiasm and devotion to 57357 and our children.
2008: The CCHE 57357 is awarded the World Health Organization’s UAE Health Foundation 2008 Prize
In a grand award ceremony held at the Assembly Hall of the Palais des Nations in Geneva, His Excellency , Dr. Hamid El Katamy , Health Minister of the United Arab Emirates presented the World Health Organization’s United Arab Emirates Health Foundation 2008 Prize to the Children’s Cancer Hospital Foundation Egypt 57357.
The prize was received by Mrs. Ola Ghabbour, the Foundation’s Secretary General on behalf of Mrs. Suzanne Moubarak, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Foundation. Also present at the ceremony were Dr.Margaret Chan, Director General of WHO, Dr. Leslie Ramsammy, President of the World Health Assembly, and the representatives of more than 190 nations.
The Emirates Minister of Health welcomed all the guests at the ceremony, which is held annually with the purpose of honoring and acknowledging physicians , institutions or renowned personalities, for their outstanding contribution to the medical field, and their assistance to the WHO in health development and the preservation of health and safety of the human race. The United Arab Emirates Health Foundation Prize was instituted in 1993 by the late Sheikh Zayed Ben Sultan Al Nahian with the firm conviction of the necessity to support the work of the WHO worldwide, so as to be able to ensure to each and every citizen of the world his or her right to decent health and sanitation standards.
In his address to the Assembly, Dr. Katamy declared that hospital 57357 was chosen to be the recipient of the prize this year for its efforts and dedication in delivering excellent healthcare standards, free of charge, for children with cancer.
Speaking before the Assembly on behalf of Mrs. Moubarak, Mrs. Ghabbour praised the strong relations which exist between Egypt and the United Arab emirates, and expressed her profound gratitude for the on-going support this sister country is demonstrating to Hospital 57357, in its endeavor to introduce change, usher in a new era in the healthcare field, and promote the levels of quality and performance in healthcare services in the Middle East.
Among the previous winners of this award are: Hillary Clinton in 1998, Professor Magdi Yacoub, Renowned Cardiac Surgeon in 2002, and Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation in 2007.
2008, 2007: CCHE 57357 is in the architectural showcase for hospital design in the prestigious “Healthcare Design” architectural journal.
