You would then appreciate the CCHE’s zeal to be even more careful and more concerned when it comes to the wellbeing of all children. the CCHE’s administration takes it upon itself to join in with other relevant organizations and governmental authorities in their anti-smoking campaigns but engaging in the fight from a different angle or perspective.
The CCHE is tackling this subject from the perspective of the negative effects of passive smoking or ETS (Environmental Tobacco Smoke)on the health of children .Following a WHO’s consultation report concluding that the evidence of the harm of passive smoking to children is strong and consistent, and the large number of exposed Egyptian children to tobacco smoke, ETS constitutes a substantial public health threat. The CCHE is determined through ad campaigns and Public debates and discussions to spread awareness of the health risks of passive smoking on children and to exercise its role as educator of parents about passive smoking.
On the other hand, The Children's Cancer Hospital Egypt’s concern for sustaining the excellent quality of its healthcare services cannot be realized without a serious engagement on its part to fulfill its role with respect to social corporate responsibilities issues . This engagement translates itself into an obligation to become an example to follow on environment preservation issues. As such, the hospital's administration has already taken important steps towards the ultimate goal of turning 57357 into a green hospital in terms of waste, water and electricity management. Concretely, the CCHE has always encouraged the planting of trees around its premises. It is taking all safety measures in handling its waste. Very shortly, all tanneries around the hospital will be relocated . Topics such as solar energy , energy consumption and saving are being discussed with the Ministry of Environment.
