Volunteer departments play a vital role in hospitals and charity work. We have been fortunate to have developed three volunteer departments recognizing the usefulness and value of volunteer work. The Association of Friends of the National Cancer Institute founded the first volunteer department in Egypt at the National Cancer Institute in 1998 which has been extremely successful and now has 50 volunteers daily performing services in the hospital. In 2000, a volunteer department was set up within the AFNCI to help in fundraising, office work and other projects. Volunteers have become an integral part of the operation of the AFNCI and the Children’s Cancer Hospital Egypt Foundation helping in all departments and for all activities.

The Children’s Cancer Hospital Egypt 57357 administration believes firmly that implementation of a Volunteer Department is necessary to encourage the community to take an active part in CCHE, enabling us to do things creatively ,innovatively and help departments throughout the hospital to achieve the level of service they are striving for. Volunteers are helping in the play activities, as information guides, transporting patients, support for children and families, and events.
